BELLINGHAM, Wash., May 182022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Continuing its tradition of making nature, science, world cultures, outdoor recreation and survival skills more accessible, Waterford Press is launching a new series of easy and accessible State Day Hikes guides. in collaboration with the experts of American Trails. Created based on the idea that hiking is an activity that can—and should—be fun and accessible to everyone, these guides feature 20 family-friendly, wheelchair-accessible hikes by state. Opportunities can be found in many parks and wilderness areas near major cities and communities, so selected trails are easy to find and complete as day trips. The trails in these guides are generally flat but may have short elevation changes, referenced as grade percentages. The lightweight guides slip easily into a backpack and provide all the information needed to allow hikers to enjoy the outdoors at their leisure. Over the next 4-5 years, the series will include all 50 states.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the State Day Hike Series will support The Trail Fund by assisting the trail community with funding to support maintenance, research and stewardship training needs.
