Seaworks will be hosting Twilight Markets over the next few months, showcasing a host of local businesses against a beautiful nighttime backdrop in Melbourne’s CBD.
The markets, supported by Hobsons Bay Council’s “Make It Happen – Hobsons Bay Recovery and Reconnection Grant” scheme, will start in mid-May and run until the end of June.
Local merchants will be able to display their wares and services in Seaworks’ Big Shed, with food vans, a coffee cart and entertainment available to the public.
Seaworks chief executive Glenn Jones said the markets aim to keep the positive momentum going in the community as residents and businesses continue to recover from the past two years.
“The aim is to add color and momentum to Williamstown and West Melbourne during the winter months and while supporting local businesses,” he said.
“Every business has suffered during the COVID shutdowns. There was a positive reconnection with the community coming out of lockdown during the warmer months.
“However, the challenge is to maintain that community spirit and those connections as we head into winter and ensure that the positive momentum continues.
“It’s shaping up to be a fun night for the whole family.”
Each market will run from 6-9pm, with the first market taking place on Friday May 13, followed by May 27, June 10 and June 24.
