Scott Storch reiterated in his Drink champions looks like he will never work with 6ix9ine again.
“I had so many tough times, you know, I worked with Tekashi 6ix9ine,” Storch said. “It all went wrong, like, at the time, we did what I thought was a crazy fucking record. You can’t take that away from the man.
Storch produced three tracks from 6ix9ine’s debut studio album dummy boy in 2018.
“It’s hard, like when you’re in person and all of a sudden you see someone like, ‘Oh shit, now I have to take pictures’ and this and that and blah, blah, blah, and then people are gonna shit on me. All that shit. It’s hard, man,” he continued.
6ix9ine was sentenced to two years in prison in 2019 as part of his plea deal to receive a significantly reduced sentence. He was facing at least 47 years in prison for racketeering. The rapper agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in their case against other members of Nine Trey Gangsters, a decision that did not sit well with his contemporaries.
Storch said in a 2020 interview that he wouldn’t be working with 6ix9ine, but “not for the reasons people would think”.
While on Drink championsStorch continued not to provide an explanation.
“I’ll say this, Tekashi records are streaming, boy,” he said. “I’m just saying it was a bag but no, I don’t work with him.”
