Open Mess at Alt-House

This ‘party of art for good’ brings together Melbourne’s artists, chefs and food companies – from illustrator Alice Oehr and Food for Everyone’s Gem Leslie to Florian, Bread Club and Saul’s Sandwiches.

Art and food collide at a fundraiser celebrating some of the finer things in life: pastries, sweets and bread.

Top local artists are auctioning off their work for a cause: bid on pieces by painter Libby Haines, designer and founder of social enterprise Food for Everyone Gemma Leslie, illustrator Alice Oehr (The art of cake), photographer Lauren Bamford and Archibald Award finalist Zoe Young. There will also be a silent auction featuring other original works by emerging artists.

If all the food-themed art is making you hungry, get the real deal with baked treats and savory dishes from Florian, Bread Club and Saul’s Sandwiches, plus sweets from Holy Sugar, Party Chic and Thy Caketh.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the University of Sydney Nano Institute team, to help research into how nanorobots can be used in the treatment of cancer and heart disease.

Tickets include entry to the event and a drink upon arrival.
