New York police are looking for a suspect in the Yankee Stadium subway station stabbing

A man was stabbed in the back on the Yankee Stadium subway on Sunday afternoon and police are looking for a suspect who was filmed fleeing the station.

New York City police responded to a call around 1:30 p.m. regarding a stabbing inside the 161 St-Yankee Stadium subway station.

Officers determined a 33-year-old man was walking up an escalator when an unidentified male stabbed him with an unknown object in the back.

Police say the victim suffered a puncture wound and was transported by EMS to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.

The suspect fled on foot from the metro station. Surveillance video released by police shows a shirtless individual walking through the station.
