Meghan Markle, 40, is known to prefer yoga to team sports like hockey and rugby. Kate Middleton, meanwhile, loved these sports growing up and is now the godmother of the England rugby team. Health and fitness expert Sarah Campus, founder of LDN MUMS FITNESS, spoke to Express.co.uk about the Duchess of Sussex’s exercise routine.
She said: “Meghan has been a long-time believer in yoga, with her mother Doria Ragland – who is an instructor in Los Angeles – playing a major role in her love for the practice.
“Yoga is Meghan’s thing, she started doing mommy and me yoga with her mum when she was seven.
“As a child she was very resilient but her mum told her to give her time and eventually she will find her rhythm which has happened and as such since college she has been practicing yoga regularly. “
What would her specific yoga routine be – and what kind of impact has that had on her figure?

Sarah noted: “Meghan’s favorite type of yoga is an intense vinyasa class – and even better if it’s explosive hip-hop and done in a dark room by candlelight. The best in his eyes!
“She will do yoga twice a week, specifically hot yoga. Meghan’s dedication to yoga can be seen in her lithe physique.
“Yoga is more than just physical training. Yoga itself signifies the union between body and mind, and taking even a few minutes to practice can help refuel one’s spirit and sense of self, which was reflected on Meghan.
“Yoga generates heat in the muscles, which reduces the risk of injury so you can safely burn up to 600 calories per session while conditioning your whole body.”

How does the Duchess of Cambridge’s workout routine differ from Meghan’s?
Michael Brigo, a brigopt.com personal trainer, told Express.co.uk: “The Duchess of Cambridge has a slender and athletic physique.
“It’s most likely shaped by doing resistance-based gym workouts, focusing primarily on strength training using body weight and dumbbells.
“Additionally, she loves the outdoors and is known to enjoy running, skiing and tennis. It wouldn’t surprise me if his average run was 10km or more.”
Dr Charlotte Norton, Medical Director of The Slimming Clinic, also told Express.co.uk: “The Duchess of Cambridge is well known for being naturally athletic and a great admirer of spending time in nature and keeping fit. .
“Of course, Kate’s naturally slender figure is partly down to genetics, but it’s no secret that the royal mother of three loves all things athletic and would appreciate a good workout.
“Whether it’s cross country, tennis or walking, she’s known to love the sport.”
Has Kate always been athletic, since she was little?
Dr Charlotte added: “I believe Kate has always led a healthy and active life. From an early age, it is clear that she was an avid sportsman like cross-country and continues to play sports over time.
“I really think Kate’s secret is consistency. There hasn’t been a time in history so far where she’s had a drastic change in her appearance, even after pregnancy and I think that’s is due to consistency with diet and exercise.
