Encina high school student stabbed in Sacramento campus brawl

A student at Encina Preparatory High School in Sacramento was injured after being stabbed during a fight with another student on Monday, authorities said. The injured student was taken to the hospital and the other student was handcuffed, the San Juan Unified School District and Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said. School staff and police are investigating the incident, which happened during first period Monday morning at the back of the school’s campus in the Arden-Arcade area. The two students involved were women. Classes are in session but there was a shelter-in-place order in effect for some time as a precaution at Encina High and Katherine Johnson Middle School, which share the same campus. This shelter in place has since been lifted.
