Docklands will host the 60th Melbourne Boat Show in October, with the major event set to be a calling card for visitors and a welcome boost to the precinct’s economy.

The show, which has moved from the Melbourne Convention Centre, will be held on the waterfront at NewQuay Promenade from October 20-23 with up to 100 exhibitors on hand.

In addition to attracting huge crowds, the event will focus on visitor experience and lifestyle that will attract and encourage current and new boaters.

The world-class event is Victoria’s largest boat show, attracting boaters, water sports enthusiasts and non-boaters both domestically and internationally.

The Docklands Chamber of Commerce said the show would provide “incredible exposure” to the community which had been hit hard by the pandemic.

The chamber will “unleash cross-promotion and capitalization opportunities” on the show. •
