City Sounds is bringing 24 LIVE outdoor music performances to various locations in Ottawa to encourage residents to shop local neighborhoods!

The Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) is pleased to announce the launch of: city ​​sounds – a series of 24 FREE music performances at multiple locations in Ottawa! Starting Friday, August 20, 2021 and over three consecutive weekends, OMIC, in partnership with numerous Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) and local business associations, will bring some of Ottawa’s best musical artists to public spaces across the city, from Orléans to Kanata! Each performance is family-friendly and FREE to attend!

As the city reopens its economy, it is vital for economic recovery to safely animate public spaces and draw more traffic to local businesses. city ​​sounds was developed in conjunction with the City of Ottawa and the Mayor’s Economic Partners Task Force. Launched in March 2020 by Mayor Watson, the Task Force brings together senior leaders from key business organizations to share challenges, insights and opportunities in support of Ottawa’s economic response, recovery and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. city ​​sounds brings together the music industry and local Business Improvement Areas and Associations to work together to animate public spaces and create economic spin-off for the benefit of small businesses. city ​​sounds also supports paid gigs for Ottawa musicians eager to perform in front of a live audience and fuels the revival of the live entertainment industry.
