Wave House Bondi with ‘curves in all the right places’ has $7 million price guide for May 26 auction

This brand new North Bondi pad – dubbed Wave House Bondi on social media – has curves in all the right places and should hit at its next auction.

A passion project with a Palm Springs aesthetic, this brand new North Bondi pad combines vacation vibes with the practicality of a large family home.

What was once a dilapidated period cottage has recently been replaced with a five-bedroom, three-bathroom 21st century residence at 18 Murriverie Rd that exudes the form and function expected in today’s eastern suburbs.

Michael Dovey, general partner at IAG Firemark Ventures, and his wife Lauren Dovey, who founded health and wellness brand Heat Healer, bought the property for $3.03 million in 2017 according to records.

The couple then set out to transform the address into an Instagram-worthy project with all the makings of a modern Bondi Beach home, from the crisp white palette to the brass and wood accents.

Dubbed Wave House Bondi on social media thanks to its wave-like facade, the house is described as being “all about dreamy, minimalist interiors, natural light and curves in all the right places”.

Listing agent Warren Ginsberg of Ray White Double Bay, who has a $7 million guide to an auction on May 26, said the Murriverie Rd location was one of the hottest spots for Bondi shoppers looking for space and seclusion from the masses while being right on the beach.

“I sold a house on the same street at number 99 last year and it was so sought after it fetched a record price of $11.235 million,” he said.

Number 18 recently won a National Design Award with the Building Designers Association of Australia.

“Everything about this house has been so carefully thought out and it has such high end finishes like beautiful resort style bathrooms and a stunning kitchen.

Some of the designer finishes include Patricia Urquiola tiles, European oak parquet floors and French Honoré pendant lights.

Throughout the ground floor, the footprint has several areas for daily living while adopting a flowing layout from the front door to the covered terrace.

At the heart of the home, a designer kitchen takes center stage with a large island bench, sleek terrazzo surfaces, decorative faucets, Miele appliances, and the convenience of a pantry leading to the laundry room.

The combined kitchen and dining area effortlessly feeds an outdoor room with built-in BBQ and custom cabinetry.

Beyond the terrace, a saltwater swimming pool takes pride of place alongside north-facing tropical gardens and a built-in seating area to complement the coastal character.

The lower floor also houses a dining room, living room, office area, wine cellar, media room, the fifth bedroom and a full bathroom.

Upstairs, four more bedrooms and another retreat mean every member of the family has a place of their own.

The main palace includes a private balcony overlooking the courtyard, a glamorous dressing room incorporating a wardrobe and a make-up area, a huge bathroom with double showers and vanities as well as a freestanding bathtub.

Each of the remaining bedrooms has large windows, built-ins and shares a bathroom.

There is off-street parking for two cars.

The Murriverie Rd location is conveniently located within walking distance of North Bondi restaurants, Bondi beach itself and Rose Bay Secondary College.
