Tow truck driver charged after cyclist killed in collision in Melbourne’s north

The man was cycling north along Melville Road in Pascoe Vale South at about 1.30pm yesterday when he was hit by a truck at the intersection of Brearley Parade, according to police.

The 43-year-old Brunswick West man died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 48-year-old Meadow Heights man, stopped at the scene and cooperated with police.

He has today been charged with dangerous driving causing death and is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court before the end of the day.

The truck appeared to have been turning onto Melville Road when the crash occurred.
