Toorak-based Pro Medicus boss Sam and Jacky Hupert pay $14.12m for neighbor’s house

For some, a Toorak mansion is the ultimate luxury. But what about owning two in a row?

Billionaire health boss Dr. Sam Hupert and his wife Jacky paid $14.12 million in a low-key deal to buy their neighbor’s house in the high-profile zip code.

The purchase was agreed in the spring of last year, but was only revealed in public records when it was settled in recent weeks.

A source with knowledge of the deal but not authorized to speak publicly named Marshall White’s Marcus Chiminello as agent, but Mr. Chiminello declined to comment.

Sam Hupert is chief executive of medical imaging company Pro Medicus and is valued at $1.32 billion on the AFR Rich List. Both properties belong to Jacky’s name.

Their primary residence is located on a sprawling block of nearly 2,200 square meters and was purchased in 2004 for $3 million, records show.

The new addition will extend their complex by an additional 850 square meters and has set a new benchmark for land prices in the exclusive suburb of nearly $16,500 per square meter.

Buying the house next door has been a popular strategy for other owners nearby, allowing for extra space, perhaps more garden or to prevent someone else from building a large building next door.
