Symptoms of Omicron variant: This symptom is more common in children

The ommicron variety continues to increase across the country, infecting both children and adults. But it turns out that kids don’t feel all the symptoms that adults have.

The news: dr. Sam Dominguez, an infectious disease pediatrician at Children’s Hospital Colorado, told WCNC-TV that children are becoming infected with the ommicron. They also experience different symptoms compared to adults.

Symptoms in children: dr. Harish Chafle, senior consultant pulmonary disease and critical care at Global Hospital in Parel, Mumbai, told The Hindustan Times that most children experience these COVID-19 symptoms when infected with omicron:

  1. A fever.
  2. Running nose.
  3. A sore throat.
  4. Physical pain.
  5. Dry cough.

Yes but: The omicron variant has led to an increase in severe COVID-19 symptoms and hospitalizations among unvaccinated children, as I reported for the Deseret News.

  • Children under the age of 5 were found to be the most vulnerable because they are not eligible for COVID-19 vaccines.
