A comedian from Sydney proposed to his future wife at McDonald’s before showing up to celebrate the occasion at Cash Converters.
Australian comedian Aaron Chen has announced his engagement to Esther Shim, posting footage of a surprise he left in his partner’s McNuggets.
The prankster, perhaps best known for his hilarious commentary on SBS football in 2017, has made a name for himself on the Sydney comedy scene since his TV debut.
“Congrats to me I’m engaged,” he posted on Instagram alongside a video of a shiny engagement ring perched atop six of the prettiest McDonalds.
By all accounts, his future wife McLoved the gesture.
“I AM THE HAPPIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD!!!!” she posted, after posing in front of a Cash Converters showing off her new ring.
At the time, Chen’s night as an impromptu commentator sparked a firestorm within the Australian rules football community.
Chen sent a shiver down the spine of thousands of viewers after asking a fan what his favorite ‘possession’ was before sheepishly covering himself by saying, “I’ve been possessed by the spirit of football. I love it, I bet you love it at home too.
The 26-year-old picked it up on Twitter from furious supporters asking if he ‘won a draw’ to receive a microphone during Sydney FC’s clash against Liverpool. Some fans reportedly threatened to self-harm if they were to skip another minute of the show.
Empire of the Kop, a Liverpool fan page on Twitter with nearly 1.6 million followers, tweeted Chen’s video on the sidelines with the caption “WHAT IS THAT?!”
