Residents urged to avoid area after huge waves damaged part of seawall in Qualicum Beach
Many areas along the waterfront are considered dangerous
A royal tide, combined with high waves, has damaged part of the seawall in Qualicum Beach.
The area is extremely dangerous, according to officials from the municipality of Qualicum Beach and they are asking residents to avoid the area.
The walkway and beach from the roundabout to Sand Pebbles Inn, the sea spire and the waterfront toilets are now inaccessible.
Many other areas along the waterfront have also been considered dangerous. Videos of the terms and conditions can be viewed here.
The city has also closed the Qualicum Beach Community Park ball court until further notice due to unsuitable weather conditions.
