Vancouver’s most enthusiastic music reporter Nardwuar just interviewed Jack Harlow about his experiences in Canada, and the artist gave sweet compliments to Vancouver and Calgary.
The American rapper, who has more than four million followers on Instagram and plenty of TikTok-worthy songs such as “WHATS POPPING,” was asked about his early Canadian shows in an interview posted to YouTube on Friday, January 7.
“What about Vancouver, BC? Have you played Fortune Sound Club?” asked Nardwuar.
“A few times,” Harlow said. “I did it once and there were so few people I wasn’t allowed to use the stage. They let me perform on the floor like that, literally eye level with my fans.”
According to Harlow, that show was more like a number and there were only 15 kids.
“It was a character-building exercise. I’ve been through a lot. It really helped me to feel very comfortable on stage as I had to humble myself a few times. I had to be humble,” Harlow said.
Then, a year later, he came back and played in front of two to three hundred people.
“Can’t wait to go back to Vancouver. I like the energy, I like the weather, I like the women, I like the vibrations.”
