Odyssey Fitness, WB Strip Plaza auctioned off

WILKES-BARRE — Two high-profile commercial real estate properties in the city are up for auction, according to online listings.

Odyssey Fitness on Coal Street is set to go on an online auction May 20, with a starting bid of $700,000, a listing with commercial real estate firm Ten-X.

Meanwhile, a new 11,600 square foot retail center on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard across from the historic train station, which is anchored by a Domino’s Pizza franchise and other businesses, is set to go up for auction on 9 May with a starting bid of $400,000.

According to the listing, Odyssey is currently owner-operated, but a new buyer has a wide range of options to reposition as another retail or similar use or to continue as a fitness center.

In operation since 1983, Odyssey is “a well-established fitness and wellness center” featuring a 30′ x 60′ x 4′ swimming pool, 1/10th mile jogging track, basketball courts and tennis and restaurant on site.

The strip mall is described as “a reliable investment, anchored by a national tenant, with development expansion potential”.
