Break his silence. After Katie Thurston revealed that she blocked Nick Viallthe former bachelor and girlfriend Nathalie Joy questioned his intentions.
During a new episode of “The Viall Files” podcast, which was released on Monday, July 11, the couple announced Thurston’s decision to name their contestants after their season ended last summer.
“I hear so much [while hosting ‘The Viall Files’] on everyone. There’s so much I know, which is part of why I have this rule. If people want to put stuff out there for us to respond to [then] good. But I don’t want to air the laundry of people I hear or how they’ve treated others,” Viall, 41, explained, referring to the former Bachelorette’s occasional Instagram Q&A.
He continued, “I’ve heard horror stories about my peers, but I don’t want to tell them all. It’s almost as if [Katie] feels like she has that ownership over these guys in her season.
Joy, 24, for her part, pointed out that she had “such a problem” with Thurston, 31,’s recent comments about Viall.
“It really touched me when I was tagged in a cute little TikTok reel on Ms Katie Thurston’s Instagram talking about Nick. I looked at it and I was just very confused because [it starts off] with someone asking, “Why does Nick Viall hate you?” And she says, ‘Nick Viall is blocked on my phone.’ Like she had some kind of reason to block Nick,” the model explained. “I know for a fact that Nick only ever tried to help her and give her advice. Which she never took.
The Maryland native, who went public with Viall in January 2021, claimed Thurston was “trying to protect himself” by texting the podcast host. “I think she’s lying, and I think we need to show the truth,” Joy said before asking her boyfriend to read her latest text message from the former bank marketing manager.
Viall recalls having a discussion with Thurston about his season while it was still airing.
“The whole conversation started because I tweeted something about one of her upcoming episodes, and she texted me, ‘Best TV? Boo.’ Then I gave my quick thoughts on the episode,” he said. “But the text that Natalie is referring to was, ‘At the end of the day, my opinion of Greg doesn’t matter. I knew before he left that he wasn’t the Chosen One. It was hard to look back and still give him validation, only for him to leave like he did. But I knew even then that there was no way he and I would have worked in the real world.
After his girlfriend read Thurston’s text, Viall added, “Then I wrote, ‘Good you have clarity. As long as you’re happy, that’s what matters.”
The couple’s response comes after Thurston made headlines for joking that she “forgot[s]about the existence of Viall. “Doesn’t Nick Viall like you?” Nick Viall is blocked on my phone. There’s tea for you,” she told fans during a live TikTok Q&A on Sunday, July 10. “I don’t know, Nick is just — I don’t know what say about him, to be honest.
She continued, “I get DMs sometimes that say, ‘Oh my god, Nick won’t stop talking about you. I texted him once and was like, ‘Hey, just so you know, people find the things you say [about me] a little weird. And in short, it basically [turned it around on me]. He said to me, ‘It’s great that you have fans who care about you! Don’t take it personally! No matter. It’s you, Nick. I’ll see you at the top.
