An Australian mother of three has detailed exactly how she lost 53 pounds in just 18 months using a weight loss challenge and portion control.

Jasmine Ready, who lives with her family in Queensland, has embarked on two successful weight loss journeys using The Healthy Mummy’s workouts and cooking tips.

Growing up, Ms Ready admitted she was ‘never really fit’ and saw the number on the scale steadily rise – until having children made her more determined than ever to get in shape.

“I’ve been overweight all my life and the one thing I don’t want is for my kids to go the same way I did,” she said.

Ms Ready had tried a number of different strategies before taking on The Healthy Mummy's 28-day weight loss challenge, including cutting out food, working out all the time and opting for 'healthier meals'.

‘I want to be positive about my body and show my little ones how important it is to nourish themselves with good food and also to take care of themselves.’

“The moment that stood out the most to me was when I realized that the best thing to do was to watch my portion sizes. I learned that it is not necessary to cut out certain groups of foods for weight loss,” she said.

“In fact, by reducing my portion sizes and meal prep, my family’s grocery bill is now down $400 a month!”

The Healthy Mummy’s goal has always been to empower moms to live healthier lives and it started with just a few hundred moms using the programs on Facebook to over 825,000 moms being part of The Healthy Mummy Community and transforming their health, life and bodywork on plans.

After completing the 28-day challenge – and losing 39 pounds in the process – Ms Ready continued to lose weight simply by using the program’s app and monitoring her food intake.

“My success has been that I don’t eat after 7 p.m., I eat five times a day, and I exercise 30 minutes a day,” she said.

‘My food diary is very boring but it’s easy and cheap.’

Previously, breakfast started with a smoothie, but now Mrs. Ready prepares Weetbix overnight so she can move quickly.

Morning tea is watermelon before making a fresh sandwich with meat and salad for lunch.

Afternoon tea is watermelon again followed by an Uncle Toby’s Milo bar before a dinner of meat and vegetables, chicken with apricots, risotto, spaghetti or pumpkin soup.

Plus, Jasmine is a huge fan of The Healthy Mummy smoothies, with salted caramel being her favourite.

“Love the range of smoothies so quick and easy, my favorite flavor is salted caramel belly powder with strawberries and milk,” she said.

“Set small goals and small rewards. I was always excited when I hit all five pounds and rewarded myself with new gym clothes, hair, or a pedicure.
