Melrose Place offers big views and bigger steaks in West Hollywood

Welcome to West Hollywood’s sleek new multi-story restaurant, with alfresco views and golden touches – and all on one of LA’s most famous streets. It’s the new Melrose Place, now open at 8472 Melrose Place, and perfect for glitzy parties, cocktails and some thick slices of steak.

Spread over 8,000 total square feet and three floors, this new restaurant (formerly AllBright) is, come summer, supposed to be a one-stop-shop for coffee needs, dinners and dizzying cocktails with stunning views. The project is the brainchild of hotel group Sunset Collective, made up of Shyon Keoppel, Stafford Schlitt, Costas Charalambous and Gunner Safron, and it could shake up West Hollywood’s booming scene which already includes everything from brand new Lavo Ristorante to Wolfgang’s Merois Puck. to hotspots like Craig’s, Catch and Olivetta.

The menu reads like an upscale casual collection of Pan-California hits, ranging from simple salads and showy entrees like a caviar-carved tuna crudo, snapper served two ways, and bone-in steaks that weigh around $40. ounces. There will be lighter ceviches and sashimi, vegan and keto meals for all, plus cocktails and wine to sweeten the evening. The opening menus are below.

As for the Franklin Studios-designed space, expect plenty of curves and hidden lighting that spans the gold, cream, and tan room. An arched bar gives way to dark wood tables and the open sky beyond, with views of West Hollywood. Further in the dining room, patterned cabins offer group seating or a comfortable night for two under palm fronds.

The new Melrose Place is now open, with indoor and outdoor seating and bar room. The restaurant is just beginning dinner service (evenings start at 5:30 p.m.), but will transition to lunch and even breakfast, with a free two-hour valet parking service.

Panna cotta as a finish.
