It was love at first sight for buyers who negotiated the purchase of a renovated four-bedroom home within 10 minutes of their first inspection.

It was love at first sight for Melbourne buyers who bought a boutique home in Geelong West locally.

McGrath, Geelong’s agent David Cortous said he negotiated the $1.72million purchase of 109 Albert St within 10 minutes of their first inspection.

The renovated four-bedroom Federation-era home with a modern rear extension had been on the market since February.

“They came from Melbourne and it was negotiated on the spot in about 10 minutes,” Mr Cortous said.

“Then they went to the office and signed the contracts.”

A substantial renovation has created three separate living rooms in the two-story home which also offers an office, three sleek bathrooms and a double garage.

A quality kitchen, with stone worktops, two Bosch ovens and a butler’s pantry, is the centerpiece of the contemporary open-plan dining and living area.

“It’s a beautiful house – you basically get a brand new house and it has everything,” Mr Cortous said.

He said it ticked all the boxes for buyers, who were looking for the right home to move into.

“Out-of-town shoppers are still pouring in right now,” he said.

Buyers in the holiday home market were also quick to act on a modern five-bedroom, three-bathroom home in Barwon Heads.

Bellarine Property, Barwon Heads agent Levi Turner, said they only inspected 10 Punt Rd on the day of its scheduled auction and then successfully negotiated with sellers.

CoreLogic’s records show they paid $2.81 million for the 569 sq m property located within walking distance of cafes and the Barwon River.

“It was designed as a holiday home and that’s what they’ll be using it for, they’re from Melbourne,” Mr Turner said.

A series of terraces extend the footprint of the home, setting the stage for summer entertaining around the eight-person spa.

He said the design made the most of the northern aspect and provided space to accommodate extended family and friends.
