A man is in critical condition at St Vincent’s Hospital after falling from the Harbor Street pedestrian overpass near Bathurst Street in Sydney’s CBD last night as NSW Police established a crime scene with an investigation In progress.

A relative of the man said city ​​hub that the man is 16, not in his 20s or 30s as police initially believed, and was out at a party with friends when the fall occurred. The relative describes the man as a “lovely young teenager” and that his parents are “completely devastated and have no idea what happened to their son”.

Officers from Sydney City Police Zone Command were called to the Harbor Street pedestrian overpass near Bathurst Street at around 9.26pm on Saturday night following reports that a man had fallen onto the roadway from the overpass and suffered serious injuries.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for surgery.

The agents understand that several people may have been on the viaduct at the time of the fall of the man and are appealing to any witnesses to “clarify the circumstances” which led to the incident.

A crime scene was set up on Harbor Street following the incident, along with the overpass. NSW Police said via social media that Sydney City Police are looking for witnesses following the incident, with anyone with information being asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Day Street Police Station, which NSW Police have also asked witnesses to contact, is located approximately 500 yards from the scene of the fall. Police reminded the public not to report the news through social media pages, but through the Day Street Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
