Man accused of robbing New York senior arrested in Newark

NEWARK, NJ – Officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department helped apprehend a man charged with “armed robbery” in New York on Tuesday in Newark, authorities said.

Corrie “Lloyd” Corny allegedly attacked and robbed an 86-year-old victim in East Harlem on July 21, 2021, according to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives from the Essex County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Manhattan Warrant Squad and the Essex County District Attorney’s Office in apprehending Corny, arresting him at the Bradley Court building complex in Newark at 5:30 a.m.

Corny has pending charges and open warrants with the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, a Manhattan robbery warrant and a charge of resisting arrest by robbery, authorities said.
