Lost bear captured in a yard in Airdrie, Alberta.

Residents of the Airdrie neighborhood of Sagewood can go outside again after a lost bear was found on Monday.

The bear, which appeared to be a black cub, was photographed leaning on the sliding back door of a Sagewood home.

At 1:10 p.m. Airdrie RCMP were alerted and Alberta Fish and Wildlife were notified. The RCMP also asked residents to stay home.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police released an update saying Fish and Wildlife officers had located the bear and had it tranquilized.

The bear would have been safe and sound. Fish and Wildlife will move it to a safe place.
