Little Penguin Trail: 5km of loops and trails to enjoy

GATINEAU, QUE. — People in eastern Ontario and eastern Quebec love to skate, as do their skate trails.

According to Carl Chénier, owner of the Little Penguin Trail, there is a trail in rural Gatineau that claims to be “the largest skate track in the region”.

About a 25-minute drive from downtown Ottawa, over three miles of trails are laid out on a golf course.

“It’s getting more popular every day; it is our second winter”, says Chénier.

There are plenty of loops to shorten or extend your time on the ice, as well as an outdoor bonfire and snack stand.

“The landscape fits nicely with the skatepark, so we chose to do that and we also wanted something good for family activities,” says Chénier.

A day pass for 13 years and older costs $20; ages 6 to 12 cost $15. There is also an option for both family pricing and a 10-pack of admission passes.
