Launch of Newport for healthy fast food | Midlands property news

A healthy fast food outlet has been launched in Newport with a £10,000 Pride in Our High Street seed grant.

Health Kick serves healthy meals, snacks, and beverages, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

The premises at 33 Upper Bar have been renovated and owner Jordan Turton hires two full-time chefs and other part-time staff to serve customers in front of the house.

Turton said: “I’m really excited to open the business and hope it can be a success here.

“I hope word spreads that we’re doing something a little different and that it encourages healthier eating and healthy lifestyles, but still offers fast food, take-out and delivery service. at the same time.

“This is definitely a new journey for me, but I’m looking forward to it. I hadn’t realized how much it would cost to start this business, so the seed grant from Pride in Our High Street was a huge help and I couldn’t have done this without her.”

Councilor Lee Carter, Telford & Wrekin Council Cabinet Member for Neighborhood Services, Regeneration and High Street, added: “The Pride in Our High Street scheme supports a wide range of small businesses from different sectors.

“Health Kick is the latest business we have supported with a seed grant and we hope this business really takes off in Newport. It will definitely bring something different to the high street.”
