Back in October 2020, Halford says the heavy metal genre “hasn’t been respected enough” by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Asked in an interview with word in your ear if he was “embarrassed” by the fact that PRIEST was not inducted rock room Again, Halford said, “Well, let’s put it this way. You have all these institutions here in America – you have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for music; you have the Basketball Hall of Fame; you have the Baseball Hall of Fame; Soccer – you have all these places where, I think basically, it’s just a really nice recognition of what you’ve done, the work that you’ve done and the things that you’ve accomplished, the place where you’ve been put to, and so on and so on.

“So, do I mind if we go in one day? Not really. But I think we deserve to be in there. Because I look at the list of people who are in there, and I feel that we have a place. And that would not only be for JUDAS PRIEST – it would be for British music, especially British heavy metal music, and it’s a great achievement. [BLACK] SABBATH are there, which is great. But I’ve always said that as far as what Rock and Roll Hall of Fame represents, the heavy metal genre of music hasn’t really been sufficiently supported and respected enough.

“So, I’d like to feel that we’ll eventually get in.”

Although artists are eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album or single, iconic hard rock and metal bands like PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN and MOTOR HEAD have not yet been recognized by the institution, which has inducted GUNS N’ ROSES in the first year of eligibility for that group.

After 2020 rock room the inductees were announced in January of the same year, JUDAS PRIEST guitarist Richie Faulkner said it made no sense that DEPECHE MODE, whitney houston, NINE INCH NAILS and Biggie Smalls were going in the rock room before PRIEST. “Hence the reason why the rock room has no credibility for me and never has,” he tweeted.
