ITV’s Lorraine Kelly shares secret to weight loss after dropping two dress sizes

Lorraine Kelly updated fans on her weight loss journey. The ITV presenter, who hosts her own eponymous show every weekday, has lost a stone and a half and says she feels ‘happier and healthier’.

The 62-year-old shared earlier this year that she went from a size 10 to a 14 during the coronavirus lockdown which caused her to lose confidence and miss events.

She told the Mirror in February: “During the pandemic I started eating comfortably and that was my downfall – eating comfortably and not being able to go to my fitness classes. When those classes stopped I started eating way too much – these were things that I would probably never care about.

“Like I wanted muffins, I wanted croissants, I wanted donuts. All those things you know you shouldn’t have and you think it makes you feel better in that moment and it’s not the case. And so slowly, slowly, slowly over the past couple of years, I’ve gone from a size 10 to a size 14…”

She added: “I definitely don’t have that much energy because the more you do the more you have and the classes really gave me that.”

Lorraine said she needed “a little help” so she signed up for WW, formerly known as Weight Watchers. And sharing a congratulations card, the TV host recently revealed she’s achieved her goal.

She told her 494,000 followers, “GOAL REACHED! I’ve lost a stone and a half! Feel healthier and happier. Thank you @ww.uk and @wwsuzystirfry.”

Celebrity Coach Ambassador Suzy Stirlin also shared the news on Instagram, telling her thousands of followers: “Yeah! What a day! Please join me in congratulating @lorrainekellysmith on reaching Goal and achieving STATUS WW GOLD!!!

“Lorraine lost 21 pounds resulting in two dress sizes, from a size 14 to a comfortable 10. I think you’ll all agree with me that she looks amazing.

“@ww.uk and I couldn’t be prouder of Lorraine’s hard work and dedication to the plan. Her efforts really paid off and her smile says it all. Well done Lorraine.”
