Erik ten Hag guided Ajax to a sixth successive Eredivisie victory in his first outing since being announced as Manchester United’s next manager.
Substitute Brian Brobbey scored two minutes from time to give the visitors all three points for NEC Nijmegen. The win comes after Ajax lost in the Dutch Cup final to PSV on Sunday.
Ten Hag is targeting a third consecutive title with Ajax after the 2019/20 season was abandoned amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Amsterdam side currently top the table with seven points having played one game more than closest challengers PSV.
