Harry Styles recalls being ‘ashamed’ of his sex life

Harry Styles has candidly revealed he’s ashamed of his sex life, admitting it’s “the only thing that belongs to me”.

The hitmaker – whose third album is slated for release soon – has begun to work his way through intimacy issues, a journey he detailed in a new interview.

Confidence was a difficult concept for the 28-year-old former member of boy band One Direction, as he explained to Better Homes and Gardens.

He said: “For a long time I felt like the only thing that belonged to me was my sex life. I was so ashamed about it, ashamed that people even knew I had sex, let alone who.

“Back then, there was still the kissing and telling stuff. Knowing who I could trust was stressful.

Luckily for pop singer Watermelon Sugar, his perspective has changed and he’s questioned his shame at being young and single – ‘it’s like, yeah, I’m having sex’ , did he declare.

Around the time of his UK-nominated second album Fine Line in 2019, Harry faced intense scrutiny surrounding his sexuality.

The singer, who is from Worcestershire and has a close-knit group of friends, said it was a “weird and outdated” expectation to go public with who he slept with and how he defined himself.

“I’ve been very open with my friends, but that’s my personal experience; it’s mine. The whole point where we should be moving towards, which is accepting everyone and being more open, is that it doesn’t matter,’ he said.
