Gunna and Freddie Gibbs’ Beef and Disses, explained

Gunna starts the year with a bang. On New Year’s Day he has announced his long awaited album Drop Season 4 will fall on January 7. And so far, the rollout has been nothing short of eventful. After teasing the tracklist, which featured guest appearances from Young Thug, Future, Roddy Ricch, Chloe Bailey and more, Gunna took to Twitter where he teased an incoming diss targeting Freddie Gibbs.

“When my album comes out, Freddie Gibbs will be the biggest moment of his career,” he says tweeted on January 5, hinting that his new album will feature some words for Freddie. Gibbs soon got wind of the tweet, which caused a back and forth between the rappers.

To some, this feud may seem to come out of nowhere, but it’s been brewing for a while. The beef probably dates back to 2020 when Gibbs took a subliminal shot at Gunna in connection with a rumored appearance of the Atlanta rapper on Crime Stoppers. When Gunna finally cleared up the rumor and explained that it wasn’t actually an episode of Crime StoppersGibbs shot Gunna on Twitter. And it’s no surprise that Gunna never forgot.

gunnas DS4 falls on January 7, so we’ll have to see what else he has to say about Freddie Gibbs. But in the meantime, here’s a quick rundown of what happened between Gunna and Freddie Gibbs.
