Forty-five minute functional fitness workouts

Start the new year right and join the gym that will change your life. Owner, Diana Bateman, and head coach, Jasmine Martinez, of F45 at Jordan Landing joined us in the studio for today’s Fitness Friday segment.

F45 is personal training in a team environment. The letter “F” stands for “functional” and 45 is the length of the exercises (45 minutes). The concept may be overwhelming, but in the F45 all movements and exercises are scaled to meet the athlete as they are on their personal fitness journey.

Owner, Diana Bateman, explained that there are no mirrors in her location. This helps facilitate an inclusive gym environment where all athletes feel welcome and can work hard together. There are two coaches on the floor in each class and they are more interested in the attendance of each athlete. Succession and regression are made to the individual and invested in every stage of the process with you.

Head coach, Jasmine, explained what it would look like if you decided to try the F45 for the first time. The coach will start by talking about your goals, concerns, and what might be holding you back. The goal is to find out what the individual needs and then take them at a pace that will be most beneficial to the athlete. At F45, coaches evaluate movement quality, lean muscle mass gains, body fat loss, and nutritional assistance.

The F45 focuses on functional fitness built on realistic movements. Whether it’s squatting to pick up a box, kids, groceries, or just reaching for an upper shelf in a closet. Martinez demonstrated this type of movement by doing lunges, lunges, and overhead presses with a bell.
