Fire crews tackle a large fire in Ross-on-Wye industrial estate – latest updates

Fire crews from the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to tackle a major fire in an industrial estate in Ross-on-Wye in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday. The brigade was called at 1:53 a.m.

Multiple fire crews are battling a blaze at a large industrial building in the city’s Overross Industrial Estate, firefighters said. Residents are asked to avoid the area and keep all doors and windows closed.

Posting to Twitter at 2.35am Monday morning, the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: “01.53am Building Fire, Overross Ind Estate #RossonWye Many fire crews currently tackling a large fire please Avoid the area and close all doors and windows.”

In an update at 4:15 a.m., the brigade added: “We currently have 10 fire engines, 2 aerial ladders, an environmental protection unit, social support, incident command support, 2 transporters of water, high volume pumps and several support officers all present.

The fire broke out at the premises of the laundry services company, Clean.
