Welcome Folk Beginners
After a year interrupted by COVID, the Newport Folk and Fiddle Group has resumed its beginner play sessions. If you are an absolute beginner or have decided to pick up that dusty or unused instrument or are experienced and want to try out a new instrument in a safe, laid back and welcoming environment, then come down and have fun, share a cup of tea and maybe even learn something new. Caregiver Walk and Talk
Pathways for Carers hosts free walking events in Laverton. The state government funded project supported by Interchange Outer East meets once a month for a walk followed by free morning tea with a guest speaker who provides informal information on relevant services for carers and the local community. Carers who participate in the groups are defined as unpaid and caring for a loved one with a disability, mental illness or an elderly person. The goal of each group is to provide caregivers with peer-based support, information, services and resources, opportunities to be active and connect with other caregivers, connect with nature and to connect with their local community.
