Campbell County Health and Food Inspections (6/23/22 – 6/29/22)

Gillette, Wyoming – The Consumer Health Services Division of the Wyoming Department of Agriculture (WDA) conducts inspections of retail food establishments throughout Wyoming (where there is no local health department that performs inspections) to help keep Wyoming residents safe.

Campbell County facilities are inspected at least once a year by the WDA. All of these reports are made public and can be viewed on their website. It will only include routine inspections and not follow-up or other types of inspections.

According to the WDA, establishments are in compliance or non-compliance with a non-critical (non-food related) or critical (which can cause foodborne illness) violation.

Derek Grant, public information manager at WDA, explains that while they are looking for gaps, “the primary goal of the organization is to educate the company.”

Their report is made to help companies understand unsafe practices and ways to correct them.

Grant says, “Any violation renders the company non-compliant, but violations can be at different levels.” This means that not being compliant does not necessarily mean the company is unsafe.

Inspections are a “snapshot” in time and the violation is often corrected before the inspector leaves the facility. Depending on the seriousness of the violation, the company will have 10 to 45 days to correct it.

Any serious violations or notable citations will be included in the summary notes below, but each restaurant’s full report can be viewed on the WDA’s website, where they post all of their current information.
