Banker Sydney ‘relieved’ with bail for mistreatment of children’s hospital

After a successful bail application on Wednesday, Mr. Blencke – who spent Christmas behind bars – will live in Federal, a small town 30 minutes west of Byron Bay, where he will report to the local police station three times a week.

His other bail conditions include attending counseling, not contacting his wife, not drinking or using drugs, not entering licensed buildings, and staying in the Byron Bay area.

“He is very relieved to be released,” Lauren MacDougall, attorney for Mr. Blencke, said Wednesday.

Mr. Blencke is an avid sailor, according to his LinkedIn, “he competed at Olympic level in the early 1990s and still competes in the sport at national and international regattas”.

He is also the chairman of Art Month Sydney, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting contemporary art.
